Poor Desmond has a nasty case of thrush!
On Thursday, I thought it was milk residue on his tongue. (Similac Sensitive leaves residue everywhere.) On Friday, I started to suspect it might be something more. On Saturday, I was pretty darned sure, but had to wait until Monday to call the pediatrician. By then, it was super thick on his tongue and had spread to the insides of his cheeks, his lips, and the roof of his mouth. Poor baby.
It didn't seem to bother him much - he was still eating just great. Treatment is oral nystatin 4x/day for 10 days.
I had really hoped to go more than 7 weeks before introducing Desmond to the friendly neighborhood pharmacist, you know?

I totally get that this is a baby mouth thing, but I can't help but think that horses get the same infection in their feet. Hope he gets well soon!
