You know, they say that babies slim down once they start crawling and cruising and generally moving everywhere. Not ours!

I mean, really, have you ever seen such adorable little fat rolls?!
And, for the record, he's still REALLY tall.
(almost) Taller than his hickory tree, in fact!
Food: Desmond still really isn't into the whole purees thing. He'll eat them (except for applesauce and apple/apricot sauce and apple/whatever sauce), but he doesn't really enjoy it (except yogurt, which he seems to enjoy). He'll play with his puffs and occasionally eat one, but again, he's just not that into it.
Motor: Boy does he motor! He pulls up on everything (sofa, ottoman, walls, cabinets, people, trash cans, chairs, tables) cruises like a madman, moving from the sofa to the ottoman to my knee with ease, and crawls ALL over the house. Truly, he'll crawl all 75 feet from one end to the other to follow whoever was cruel enough to leave him all alone for more than 2 seconds. :) Sometimes he's hand/knee/hand/knee, sometimes hand/knee/hand/foot. Poor baby wants to walk SO badly!
Language: Desmond is a fabulous babbler! He blows raspberries and just generally makes noise just to prove to himself that he still can. I have high hopes for actual words on a normal schedule.
Sleep: Ugh. Perhaps better. PERHAPS. But still not great. Or even good.
Teeth: Still just two! They are just about all the way in (or maybe all the way already), and they are adorable!
Bath: One of the highlights of the day. He still doesn't quite have the stamina to stay in for a really long time (he's usually getting tired by the time we even start bath), but he loves to sit in there and splash around and chew on the bath toys. Still enjoys reading Bath Time, too. But now that he can pull up and cruise, he tries to do it in the bathtub. Even though we have a nonskid mat in there, it's not quite enough to keep his mom happy. So we spend a lot of time sitting him back down or just holding on to him with both hands while he insists on standing up with his wet hands on the slippery bathtub.
Books: Poor Des is usually really wiped out by the time we make it to nightly books. I'm really lucky if I can get through Guess How Much I Love You and Goodnight Moon before he fusses and kicks and demands to be put in his crib (or just falls asleep in my arms). We try to read to him during the day, too, so he actually gets some benefit out of it. Still, favorites are still pretty much evaluated on the basis on their chewability rather than their content.
Likes: Dexter, being around other people, splashing in the bathtub, cruising, crawling, chewing on various paper products until they disintegrate and he has a big ball of paper in his mouth.
Dislikes: Being left alone for any period of time, being forced to eat solid foods, getting dressed, diaper changes.
