Weight: 19 pounds, 6.4 ounces (77th %ile)
Length: 29 inches (98th %ile)
Head Circumference: 17.25 inches (47th %ile)
And really, I think this kid has a pretty big head, yet 53% of babies his age have a bigger one. weird.
Developmental checklist questions we got were:
* Does he sit with assistance? (yes, and without assistance)
* Does he reach for objects? (yes, with much enthusiasm)
* Does he transfer objects from hand to hand? (oh yeah)
* Does he babble? (oh, does he babble!)
and a few others that he far exceeded. Excellent!
He was declared to be in excellent health. A little runny nose, but clear ears, lungs, etc. He got 3 vaccinations - rotavirus (oral), Hib, and DTaP (both injections in the thigh). He cried for about 5 seconds after his shots, then he was his happy self again. Poor kid was asleep before we left the doctor's office and crashed for more than 2 hours.
We did get referred to a specialist for his flat head. No one seems terribly concerned about it, but our window of intervention opportunity is closing, so we're going to at least go see what can be done to give him a nice round head for the rest of his life. At least he's sitting up more now (actually, he's so good at it he usually can't figure out how to get down) and sleeping on his side, so the only pressure on the head is really in the carseat and the occasional lying on the floor fun time.
YAY for a healthy baby Desmond!
