Desmond is One Month Old!

Boy, did that month fly by.  It seems like just yesterday we were sleeping for more than 2-3 hours at a time.

All in all, Desmond has had a great month.  He's eating and sleeping and pooping, just like he is supposed to.  Most importantly, he is growing, which is just about all you can ask of a one-month-old.

We still have some challenges, mostly with breastfeeding (he has a shallow latch - ouch) and sleeping (he tends to do most of his during the day), but I'm sure those things will resolve themselves one way or another soon enough.

As for likes and dislikes, they haven't changed much.  Desmond is learning to like his swaddle, much to his exhausted parents' relief.  Timing of the swaddling is still a little tricky, though - too awake, and he fights it and wakes himself up more; too sleepy and the swaddling can wake him up - we have to hit just the right state of drowsiness. Then, of course, we have to hope he doesn't require a diaper change between the time he is swaddled and the time he is officially asleep.

As for dislikes, I guess we can add "getting my growth photo pictures taken" to that list.
