Desmond is One Week Old!

And wow, what a week it's been!

I don't think his birthday post mentioned the little cut he got on his head.  It seems my uterus was a little thinner than normal, and they cut just a tiny bit too far.  As far as birth injuries go, though, we'll take a small, clean cut with a precise and sterile instrument in a sterile environment over Erb's Palsy or a forceps injury any day.  (It's healing very nicely.)

Desmond had a lot of visitors in the hospital.  Tootsie came (sans Dexter) for some one-on-one time.  Then Grandma and Granddad stopped by for their first dose of Desmond.

THEN Tootsie came back with Dexter the next day (Thanksgiving Day) so he could meet his new baby brother!  Dexter is doing REALLY great with Desmond.  He pats him very gently, is generally curious about him, and seems to want to soothe him when he cries.  It's really quite adorable.

 

Then Desmond spent some time just generally being cute.

And before we knew it, it was time to go home!  Time for a couple of pictures  - a 4 day postpartum belly, plus one really adorable baby!

 

Soon we were dressed and on our way!

 

Dexter and Tootsie were waiting for us at home.

Later that day, it was time to show Desmond his trees!

Monday night. Time for firefighter training and a little TV.

 

And now it's Tuesday (again) and Desmond is officially 1 week old! He got to meet Demonjello and everything!
